Live Queue Display for Clinics in India: Included From Essential, No Separate Token System

Antony Dick·Founder & CEO, CuraVerto·10 August 2026·5 min read

A crowded reception area asking "how much longer" isn't really a hardware problem, it's a visibility problem. Most clinics that go looking for a fix end up shopping for a standalone digital-queue or token-display product, a second purchase, a second login, and a second thing that can drift out of sync with the actual appointment book. In CuraVerto, the Live Queue Display isn't that kind of add-on. It's included in the base license from the Essential plan, and it works directly off the same appointment records your front desk already uses to book, check in, and bill patients.

Why front desks end up shopping for a separate queue system

Before looking at what CuraVerto does, it's worth naming the moments that actually send a clinic owner searching for "queue management software" in the first place.

"How much longer, doctor?"
The same question, asked by different patients, dozens of times across a busy morning, because there's no visible order for them to check for themselves.
No way to show the order without calling names out loud
A paper token slip or a shouted name works until the waiting room gets loud or a patient steps outside for a call, and then nobody is sure who's actually next.
A patient leaves and comes back, and the order gets confusing
Manually re-inserting someone into a paper or verbal queue is where disputes start, and front desk ends up mediating instead of managing the desk.
A dedicated token-display box feels like overkill for one or two doctors
Standalone queue-display products are real, sellable software, but for a solo or two-doctor clinic they're a second subscription and a second screen to set up on top of whatever books appointments already.

How the Live Queue Display works inside CuraVerto

The Live Queue Display isn't a separate module a clinic turns on and configures from scratch. It's built on the same appointment and check-in workflow that already exists in the CuraVerto dashboard.

The appointment already exists
Whether a patient booked through the WhatsApp booking bot (included from Essential), by phone, or walked in and was added at the desk, the appointment record is already in CuraVerto's schedule for the day.
Front desk marks the patient checked-in
That single check-in action against the existing appointment is what puts the patient into the live queue. There's no separate queue-entry form to fill out.
The screen updates in real time
The waiting-room display and each staff member's dashboard reflect the current order as patients check in, as a doctor starts a consultation, and as one finishes and the next is called.
The queue advances on its own
Marking a consultation complete moves the display forward automatically, so front desk isn't maintaining a second list by hand alongside the appointment book.

It reads off the same appointment record, not a second booking system

This is the distinction that matters most against a standalone queue-display product. A separate token system is, by definition, a second source of truth: something has to update it whenever the appointment book changes, and if a receptionist forgets, the screen in the waiting room stops matching reality.

CuraVerto's Live Queue Display doesn't have that failure mode, because there's nothing separate to update. It's a live view of the same appointments table your clinic already uses for scheduling, check-in and billing. Check a patient in once, at the desk, and the queue, the doctor's own patient list, and the waiting-room screen all move together, because they're reading the same record rather than three different ones.

What's included, and on which plan

With CuraVerto: Live Queue Display isn't reserved for a higher tier. It's part of the base license from Essential, the entry plan for a solo practitioner or single-branch clinic, all pricing exclusive of GST and with no per-doctor fee at any headcount.

What front desk sees, and what a doctor sees

CuraVerto's roles, admin, doctor, staff, receptionist and lab, are scoped by branch on every plan including Essential, and that role-scoping extends to how the queue is viewed. Front desk works from the fuller view of the day's order across the branch, while a doctor's own dashboard is centered on their own patient sequence rather than every doctor's list at once. Both views are drawn from the same underlying check-in data, just presented to the person who needs it for their part of the day.

What the Live Queue Display is not

Worth being precise about scope here, so this isn't confused with two other things.

It is not the Dental Suite's Queue TV. CuraVerto's Dental Suite, available from Pro and above, bundles a dental-specific Queue TV display alongside odontogram charting and consent tools. That's a narrower, dental-specific feature. The Live Queue Display in this post is the general appointment queue, available to any clinic type, included from Essential.

It does not currently send patients a WhatsApp message about their turn. It's an on-screen waiting-room and dashboard view. CuraVerto's WhatsApp features on Essential and above cover booking, reminders and digital prescriptions, and we're not claiming a turn-by-turn WhatsApp alert as part of this feature.
