# IVF Lab Software

CuraVerto's IVF lab module manages the embryology laboratory within a
fertility clinic — sperm analysis, egg retrieval counts, fertilisation
outcomes, embryo grading, and cryo storage — connected to the clinical EMR so
doctors see real-time cycle progress. It is part of CuraVerto's integrated
IVF EMR, gated to the Plus plan.

## What the lab module covers

- **Semen analysis**: WHO 2021 reference values for concentration, motility
  (PR/NP/IM), morphology, and volume. Donor and husband samples are recorded
  separately.
- **Oocyte retrieval tracking**: oocytes retrieved, MII/MI/GV count,
  ICSI-injected, and 2PN fertilised counts, all time-stamped against the
  retrieval event.
- **Embryo grading**: Day-3 (cell count and fragmentation) and Day-5
  blastocyst grading using Gardner/Istanbul criteria, with automatic
  arrested-embryo flagging.
- **Cryo inventory**: vitrified embryos and blastocysts tracked by tank,
  goblet, and straw, linked to patient and cycle so availability is visible
  before scheduling a frozen embryo transfer.
- **Cycle outcomes**: fresh and frozen transfer outcomes, biochemical
  pregnancy, clinical pregnancy, and live birth recorded per cycle for
  internal KPI dashboards.
- **ICMR ART reporting**: mandatory ICMR ART fields are captured at data
  entry time, with cycle-level CSV export for annual statutory reporting.

## Embryology grading detail

Day-1, Day-3, and Day-5/6 grading follows Gardner criteria, with per-embryo
fate tracking through fertilisation, culture, and transfer or cryopreservation.

## CASA integration

CuraVerto supports manual semen analysis entry against WHO 2021 reference
values today. Integration with CASA sperm analysers via HL7 is on the
roadmap.

## Relationship to the rest of the IVF EMR

The lab module is one part of CuraVerto's IVF EMR, alongside cycle
management (stimulation, monitoring, trigger timing, transfer), cryo
management, and a secure-EMR layer covering donor identity protection, audit
logs, and role-based access. Lab entries are linked to the same cycle record
used by clinicians, so retrieval, fertilisation, grading, and cryo status are
visible from one timeline rather than a separate lab system.

## Plan

The IVF and Fertility module, including the lab component described here,
requires the Plus plan (₹49,999/year).
