This is a process guide for IVF clinics: what a doctor should check before a drafted note is saved, who signs, and what the patient should hear before the recording starts. It makes no accuracy claims. An AI scribe changes who types the consultation note. It does not change who is responsible for it. In an IVF clinic that matters more than usual, because one visit can produce numbers that steer a cycle (a follicle count, a semen parameter, a dose) next to a long counselling conversation the couple is trusting you to record fairly. This is a process guide, written from how CuraVerto's scribe works: what a doctor should check before a drafted note is saved, who signs it, and what the patient should be told first. It makes no claim about how accurate any scribe's draft is. That is something to test on your own recordings, not to take from a vendor. ## What the scribe actually hands the doctor In CuraVerto, the doctor starts the scribe from the visit screen and the transcript appears live while the consultation runs. The scribe then fills in the visit form: symptoms, diagnosis, medications, vitals, lab orders, follow-up and advice, plus case sheet sections. In an IVF visit it also picks up antral follicle counts for each ovary and semen analysis values. It has no field for embryo grading, so embryology entries stay with the embryologist. It drafts. It does not diagnose and it does not recommend treatment. ## Review before you save: seven checks - **1. Numbers first** Follicle counts, semen values, vitals and doses are the entries that change a plan if they are wrong. Check each one against what you said in the room before anything else. A drafted number is a suggestion until you have seen it. - **2. Doses you did not say** When a drug is named without a dose, CuraVerto's medication row can arrive with defaults already filled in: one tablet, a 1-0-1 frequency, after food and a three-day duration. Those values come from the form, not from the consultation. Read every medication row as if you were writing it yourself. - **3. The Review tray** Items the scribe was less sure about, or could not place, are not applied to the visit. CuraVerto holds them in a Review tray where the doctor accepts or dismisses each one. Clear the tray before saving so nothing is left undecided. - **4. History goes straight to the standing record** Past medical, surgical, family and social history that CuraVerto's scribe picks up is added to the patient's standing medical history as it is extracted, not when the visit is saved. Open that record as well as the visit note. - **5. The IVF panels have their own save** Semen analysis values are pre-filled into the semen panel and are stored only when the doctor presses Save there. Treat follicle counts the same way: after the visit, reopen the cycle and confirm the count you expect is stored on it. - **6. The counselling content** Counselling is the part a scribe summarises, and summaries lose things. Check that the risks and costs discussed, and any decision the couple deferred, are in the note in your own words. - **7. The transcript is kept** CuraVerto saves the session transcript with the visit, where it appears read-only under the appointment's documents, so a later reader can compare the note with what was transcribed. ## What is saved, and when CuraVerto's scribe fills the form. It does not save the visit. The visit is stored when the doctor saves it, against the doctor selected on that visit. Three things happen outside that moment: history lines are appended to the standing record as described above, panels with their own Save store their own values, and the clinic wallet is charged as audio is transcribed, so a visit you abandon is still billed for the minutes recorded. ## Who signs That is a clinic decision, and software cannot make it for you. Write down who may start the scribe, who may edit the draft, and whose name goes on the saved note. Two things in CuraVerto help. An administrator can limit the scribe to named doctors. And where the clinic uses the appointment workflow, a team member can save a visit as a draft for the assigned doctor, and only that designated doctor can approve it, with edits to medications, diagnosis, advice and lab orders. Whether a note meets your medical council's requirements is a question for the council or your adviser, not for a software vendor. ## What the patient is told Before the recording starts, the patient should know four things: that the consultation audio is being recorded and processed by AI software, that the software drafts a note which the doctor checks, that they can say no without losing care, and who to contact to withdraw. CuraVerto records AI scribe processing as its own consent purpose for each patient, separate from treatment record-keeping and from reminders. It starts as not consented and changes only when a yes is recorded. The notice wording CuraVerto generates for that purpose names the clinic, lists the data (consultation audio, clinical notes, symptoms and diagnoses), says the data is processed by AI software to generate a structured clinical note, and says how to withdraw and whom to contact. A patient can withdraw that purpose from a link, without calling the front desk. Make checking that consent a named step before the doctor presses Start Consultation, and decide who does it. An IVF consultation often has two people in the room, and consent is recorded per patient, so decide how your clinic handles the partner who is not the booked patient. On the audio itself: by default CuraVerto does not keep it. Each recorded chunk is deleted from CuraVerto's server once it has been transcribed, and the text transcript is what stays with the visit. Say so to the patient in plain words. ## Language, noise and cost CuraVerto's scribe is set to English. IVF counselling is often held in more than one language, so decide what happens to the part that is not in English: for example, the doctor dictates a short English summary at the end. Try the scribe on real visits in your own rooms before it becomes routine, because noise and overlapping speech make any transcript worse. CuraVerto meters the scribe at ₹1 a minute from the clinic wallet. That is a usage charge on top of the plan fee, not part of it, and the current rate is on the pricing page. Audio is billed as it is transcribed, so after your first few visits look at the wallet entries and work out your own cost per consultation rather than estimating it. The IVF module that holds cycle records is part of CuraVerto's Plus plan at ₹49,999 a year excluding GST. ### Related reading - [AI Scribe for IVF and Fertility Clinics](https://curaverto.com/emr/ivf-ai-scribe) - [Inside CuraVerto's AI Scribe: How a Dictated Note Becomes the Signed Record](https://curaverto.com/blog/ai-scribe-accuracy-review-workflow-india) - [AI Medical Scribe for Indian Doctors: How It Works and What It Costs](https://curaverto.com/blog/ai-medical-scribe-doctors-india) - [Patient Consent Under the DPDP Act: What an Indian Clinic Has to Collect](https://curaverto.com/blog/dpdp-patient-consent-whatsapp-clinic-india) - [CuraVerto pricing: plans and metered rates](https://curaverto.com/pricing) ## Frequently asked questions ### What should a doctor check before saving an AI-drafted IVF consultation note? Numbers first (follicle counts, semen values, vitals and doses), then every medication row for defaults the doctor did not dictate, then the Review tray, then the standing medical history that CuraVerto's scribe adds to as it goes. CuraVerto's scribe fills the visit form, and the visit is stored only when the doctor saves it. ### Who signs an AI scribe note in an IVF clinic? The clinic decides, and the treating doctor remains responsible for the record. In CuraVerto the visit is saved against the doctor selected on it, an administrator can limit the scribe to named doctors, and where the appointment workflow is used only the designated doctor can approve a draft. ### What should an IVF clinic tell a patient before using an AI scribe? That the audio is recorded and processed by AI software, that the software drafts a note the doctor checks, that saying no does not affect care, and who to contact to withdraw. CuraVerto records AI scribe processing as a separate consent purpose for each patient, which starts as not consented and needs an explicit yes. ### Does CuraVerto keep the audio of an IVF consultation? By default, no. CuraVerto deletes each recorded chunk from its server once it has been transcribed. The text transcript is saved with the visit and appears read-only under the appointment's documents. ### Does CuraVerto's AI scribe grade embryos or write the embryology record? No. In an IVF visit CuraVerto's scribe picks up antral follicle counts for each ovary and semen analysis values, along with the general visit fields. It has no field for embryo grading, so embryology entries remain with the embryologist. --- Canonical: https://curaverto.com/blog/ai-scribe-ivf-consultation-review-sign-off-patient-consent-india Contact: sales@curaverto.com This document is CuraVerto's own description of its product.
